PerifiTech’s Raidium 2320 Controller combines a PCI-X or PCI-E SCSI controller and high performance RAID functions on a single adapter. By consolidating the technology, reliability factors such as heat, component fatigue, and excess RF interference are eliminated. As a result, lifetime is extended without sacrificing performance.

The Controller features dual LVD Ultra320 SCSI channels, an on-board Intel^® Xscale 80332 I/O processor, 128MB cache and a battery backup. With support for Bus Mastering, Bursting, Multi-Threaded I/O and Data Scatter/Gather, data transfer rates of up to 640MB/s are achieved. The Raidium 2320 Controller also features Bad Sector Management, wherein data existing on bad drive sectors is detected and reassigned to known good sectors; all transparent to the host.

The 2320 controller will link up to six physical drives with support for creating two logical drives. Automatic hot-standby drive rebuilding allows the Controller to reconfigure the array, should a defective drive be detected. If a hot-standby drive is not designated, the defective drive can be hot-swapped and rebuilt on-line. PerifiTech’s Power Console Plus (RAID Management) Utility allows the array to be monitored and managed in real time. Multiple Raidium 2320's in separate systems can be managed from a single Power Console.
