Efficiency is the key to performance in today's computer environments. Although fast disk access time plays an important role in the overall performance of a hard disk, its efficiency of operation and device driver are the key elements to how well a drive will perform. PerifiTech has mastered these elements and combines them in a hot-swap enclosure. Using PerifiTech’s patented SCSI Prep Utility, disk modules outperform standard workstation or file server hard disks up to 100%, while adding hardware fault tolerance.

An "off-the-shelf" disk drive does not know the special characteristics of its physical or Operating System environment. It is configured to function across all platforms. PerifiTech takes Ultra320 SCSI drive engines and optimizes their feature set to run in concert with the intended Operating System. The resultant disk has stabilized R/W speeds across all I/O loads, has no performance loss with multiple devices on the same channel and reduces the system overhead managing the drives.

Other drive optimization features include: Adaptive Bias Estimation (ABE) which maintains consistent performance by adjusting the bias applied to the actuator, Virtual Cache Lines (VCL) which allows dynamic assignment of cache segments, Adaptive Active Filtering (AAF) which improves signal integrity and Rotational Vibration Compensation (RVC) which monitors and corrects for external vibration.

A modular approach to disk storage allows custom configurations that meet the unique capacity requirements of each environment. Disks are available with an Ultra320 SCSI interface in capacities of  73, 147, 300GB and higher as available.
